Programme for

Aldershot & District Speedway.
Aldershot Stadium, Oxenden Road,
Tongham, Nr. Farnham, Hampshire.

30 August 1950

“The shape of this track was one of the oldest in speedway history, being best described as ‘pear-like’. The first Trials on the circuit were held in February 1950 and the track opened not long afterwards on 10 April, when Basil Harris won the Easter Trophy.

Under the promotion of Bob Netcott and his wife, Edith, the Shots became members of the National League Division Three that year. The club remained in the Third Division in 1951, prior to becoming members of the Southern League the following season”
