Unable to find much information about many of these tracks over and beyond that they existed, many for only a short while, and can be found in the book by Robert Bamford and John Jarvis called “Homes of British Speedway” and I would welcome any information or photos any of our readers may have.  

ABERAVON - Port Talbot, Glamorgan, South Wales known to be used by Ian Sizer for practice sessions prior to Christmas 1982.

ABERDOVEY - Borth Sands, North Wales, understood to have been used on a regular basis by Archie Wilkinson for training during 1971

ABERLADY - Gullane, East Lothian, Scotland - Edinburgh riders used the sands situated near , during 1953 for training,  amongst those said to have made use of this facility were Jimmy Cox and Harry Darling.

AINSDALE - May be the best known of the ‘Beach Tracks’ and to acknowledge this it is listed with the main venues and has its own page - see here.

ARDEER -  Near Ivine, Ayrshire Scotland, the group of riders who had traditional used the sands at Irvine moved to the sands at Ardeer during January 2002. Amongst those who are known to have used this facility were Derek Holmes and Derek Sneddon.

ASJAM - Askam-in-Furness, Cumbria, used for a demonstration by Tom Owen, Cliff Hindle and Alan Wilkinson, these demonstrations were part of the Insure Rescue Team’s Gala Day in July 1972. The sands were also used during the winter of 1972/1973 by Cliff Hindle and his son Ian as a training facility for juniors.
