Luke Bowen born on the 26th January 1986 in Harlow, Essex, began his speedway career contracted to Rye House in 2002 at the age of 16 and now in 2012 he is still with them.

Starting in the Rye House Cobras (previousley the Raiders) the Rye House team competeing in the National League (formaly Conference League) and remained with the Cobras until graduating in 2006 to the Rye House Rockets, the senior team competing in the Premier League, and at the time of writing, 2012, he is still a member of the Rockets.

Luke’s career has been very stable since 2002 easing himself first into the Cobra team and then after a few appearances for the senior team joining them in 2006 although contracted rider for Rye House since 2002 he has riden for other teams on occasion but only for one match, the teams riden for apart from Rye House are Swindon Robins, Ipswich Witches and Belle Vue Aces.

Kevin Bowen, Luke’s father also rode for Rye House towards the end of his riding career 1980 to 1983.

Luke missed most of 2012 due to an accident sustained whilst riding at the Somerset Rebels track in June but I am sure everyone wishes him back on track soon.
