1928 Douglas D.A.S.

The Dirt Track Douglas was the first bike specifically manufactured by Douglas Motors, of Kingswood, Bristol England for Dirt Track use in 1928/29.

It has a 500cc horizontally opposed lay down twin engine, the best of its day. It has a low centre of gravity, and the rear drive is on the right hand side,  all other bikes of this era it was on the Left.

The Douglas bikes were used over the world by the top riders of the day such as

Sprouts Elder – USA

Vic Huxley – Australia

And Roger Frogley – England

The price of this bike in 1928 would have been £85
