Return to Riders Profiles’ Index

There seems to be little information available about this successful rider, Neil Evitts, born in Birmingham in 1964 on the 25th of September.

Can find no information about how he came to be a speedway rider and do not know if he attended one of the speedway schools or came to speedway via grasstrack I only know he did arrive and became a successful rider during the latter part of the 1980’s and the beginning of the 1990’s.

I was able to find out about something about his riding career mostly the tracks he rode for starting with Stoke Potters in 1980 then in 1981 Wolverhampton Wolves and Birmingham Brummies, the remained with the Brummies until 1983.

Moving to Halifax Dukes in 1984 remaining with the team when Halifax closed in 1985 to become a member of the Bradford Dukes and indeed their captain continuing with them till 1993 when it would seem he retired.

Neil Evitts qualified World Speedway Championship in 1986 finishing a creditable 8th and he won the British Championship in the same year and was runner up in 1987. And with his team he won the Elite League KO Cup in 1991, 1992 & 1993

It will be more than obvious that more information is required to give a full account of Neil’s speedway career, if you can help -
