Southampton Saints

Home of the Southampton Saints, the Banister Court Stadium was, like so many others venues, reduced to running just the occasional open meeting in 1940 and then nothing for the rest of World War II.

Open for Speedway business again in 1947 under the promotion of Jimmy Baxter the team raced in the National League Division Three. The pleasure of having speedway back once more was crushed by the track accident that caused the death of Peter Jackson.

The Saints continued in the N L Division Three for 1948 being promoted to Division Two in 1949 the year of this Programme cover.
