Speedway
at Rotherham
Greyhound Stadium
sometimes known as
Bramley

There was a brief period of speedway at this venue during the years 1929 and 1930. The track was situated behind the workshops of Skid Skinner and the first dirt-track event took place there on the 18th May 1929 and was followed by regular Silver Helmet events staged by Mr Skinner, good attendance was recorded however this period of solo management was short lived as in August the track was taken over by a syndicate headed by Percy Carnelley and William Hunt, with Skid Skinner on the board of directors.

Regular Thursday and Saturday meetings continued during 1929 but only five meeting were staged in 1930 the last being staged on June the 9th.

Our thanks to John Somerville and John Jarvis for there allowing us to use their information and imagines.
